England / Pakistan

An ICC tribunal found Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif guilty of charges relating to spot-fixing in this Test. The Court of Arbitration for Sport subsequently dismissed Butt’s and Asif’s appeals.

The established conduct concerned prearranged no-balls. It does not establish that the entire match result was fixed. This scorebook does not label every no-ball in the match as part of the case or identify particular deliveries without the supporting official record.

England / New Zealand

The World Cup final finished tied in regulation play and again in the Super Over. England took the title under the boundary-count tie-break then in force.

The source records the tie and England as the eliminator winner. Both matter: a title decided by the playing conditions is not the same thing as an outright run or wicket margin.

Sri Lanka / Bangladesh

Angelo Mathews was timed out before facing a delivery. The official explanation and Mathews’ disagreement are documented in the ICC’s account.

Cricsheet attaches Sadeera Samarawickrama’s caught dismissal and Mathews’ timed-out dismissal to the same source delivery, 24.2. The scorebook preserves two dismissals at one recorded ball; it does not invent a ball faced by Mathews.

Jonny Bairstow was given out stumped after Alex Carey’s throw when he left his crease on 2 July. Cricket Australia’s report records the incident and the reaction.

The match record identifies the dismissal at 51.6 of England’s second innings. The debate around the dismissal and the recorded playing decision are separate from any allegation of match manipulation.

A rare scoring sequence makes an excellent replay. Rarity alone is not evidence of wrongdoing, and historical cohort comparisons should not be read as suspicion scores.
